Craighead County District Court has announced that if you have a warrant in Craighead County District Court for Nonpayment of Fines, Revocation of Probation, Contempt of Court/ public service work or Failure to appear and these warrants are prior to August 1, 2011, you may be able to get the warrant dismissed, extra fines dropped, and driving privileges reinstated

Detective Mike Branscum has arrested a suspect in the Monday evening shooting incident at Parker Park in north Jonesboro. After interviewing multiple witnesses and receiving information from the Crime Stoppers hotline, Anthony Tribley, 20, of 611 Warren Street in Jonesboro is being held and is expected to be charged with Aggravated Assault and Criminal Mischief.

The Jonesboro Police Department has recently changed the procedure for accessing accident reports online. Effective immediately, citizens and insurers wishing to access accident reports from any computer via the internet can now find reports available from our new provider, www.reportbeam.com. A link to the website is available on the Jonesboro Police Department’s webpage at www.jonesboropolice.com. The charge for the service is currently $13.00 and is payable by major credit or debit card as well as by account through reportbeam.com. The report can then be uploaded within a matter of minutes in most cases.

The Jonesboro Police Department is encouraging city residents to celebrate National Night Out, which is the national fight against crime, by turning on their porch lights, getting out and meeting neighbors, or by organizing gatherings such as cookouts and family-oriented block parties in their neighborhoods on Tuesday, October 04, 2011. The Jonesboro Police Department will be participating in a special crackdown soon for people who refuse to buckle their seat belts during the Memorial Day holiday. The campaign, known as Click it or Ticket, will run from May 23 to June 05.

At approximately 5:45 a.m. today, Jonesboro Police officers responded to 1812 Cedar Heights Drive in reference to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found that Deja Wallace, 22, of the same address suffering from two gunshot wounds. She was responsive and told officers that she had been shot by the father of her child, 36 year-old Bobby Joe Bohannon, of 233 Wingfield Street in Osceola, Arkansas.

Officers with Jonesboro Police Department and Craighead County Sheriff’s Office stopped two vehicles yesterday after learning that the individuals may have been involved in illegal narcotics activity. At approximately 9:55 a.m., Officers Morshaydrick Racy, Jason Bissett, and Deputy Brian Skinner stopped two vehicles in the area of South Stadium Boulevard and Harrisburg Road which resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, guns, cash, and pills.

With the goal of reducing outstanding warrants and offering a second chance to violators, Craighead County District Judge Keith Blackman has instituted a warrant amnesty program which will begin tomorrow for certain misdemeanor arrest warrants issued by the court.

With the purpose of reducing the availability of alcohol to minors, Officers with the Jonesboro Police Department worked with state Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Agent Michael Kindall yesterday conducting compliance checks at several local restaurants licensed to serve alcohol. Specifically, Officers made spot checks of seven restaurants by using undercover employees and minors. During these visits, servers in five of the businesses served alcoholic beverages to a minor without checking for identification. In those instances, citations to appear in Craighead County District Court were issued to the servers for Unknowingly Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, a misdemeanor.

Officers with the Jonesboro Police Department were summoned to 602 East Roseclair at about 11:40 this morning after a receiving a report of a man being injured during an accident in which a vehicle struck a tree. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 27 year-old man on the ground near the accident site. Medical units arrived at about the same time as the officers and transported the man to Saint Bernards Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Gary Dimitric Lytle, who had been wanted in connection with the November 5th shooting death of Henderson Davis in Jonesboro, was arrested early this morning in Denver Colorado after travelling there on a Greyhound bus from the Memphis area. Lytle was taken into custody by the Fugitive Location Apprehension Group (F.L.A.G.) Task Force after a coordinated investigation by the Jonesboro Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, West Memphis Police Department, and Marshal Bob Clark of the Jonesboro U.S. Marshal’s Office

Several Jonesboro Police Officers responded to barricaded suspect situation in north Jonesboro after a man who was believed to be armed fled from officers into a residence. After about three hours, the man was arrested by members of the Jonesboro Police SWAT team and an assault rifle was found inside the dwelling.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. today, Craighead County District Judge Keith Blackman found probable cause and issued two bench warrants for Gary D. Lytle, the suspect in a homicide which occurred early this morning. Judge Blackman issued the warrants for Murder in the First Degree and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons (Felon).

Officers with the Jonesboro Police Department were summoned to 406 #C Calion Street in north Jonesboro at about 2:15 a.m. this morning in response to a shooting there. Once on the scene, officers found 28 year-old Henderson Davis of West Memphis lying in the doorway of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Shortly after officers and medical personnel administered first aid to the victim, he was transported to St. Bernards Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
