In 2005, the Jonesboro Police Department PROWL Unit was established by Chief Michael Yates as a uniformed street crimes unit specializing in criminal patrol, narcotics enforcement, and gang investigations. It currently consists of six (6) members, including two K-9 teams. The unit conducts directed patrols, investigates citizen complaints of street-level criminal activity, and directly assists the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force.  PROWL may also assist any division within the Jonesboro Police Department at any time.  PROWL works all hours of the day to complete whatever task is assigned to them.  Since its inception, PROWL has been responsible for making over 600 felony arrests, has seized over $300,000 in assets and almost $400,000 in narcotics.

The members of the PROWL are dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to achieve their mission of investigating and deterring criminal activity for the citizens of Jonesboro.  We welcome any assistance from the public such as information concerning criminal, drug, and gang activity.
